ITV offers £1m contract to Chiles

ITITV has offered a £1m deal to Adrian Chiles to host a breakfast show on its GMTV and also lead its

Chiles, who has been with the BBC's One Show since the beginning, is said to be furious over the BBC replacing him with Chris Evans, while he was on a holiday, to present the show on Fridays. There are speculations that Chiles will quit the BBC even before his contract ends next month.

The 43-year-old presenter had earlier rejected a £6m long-term deal with ITV when he signed a £1m deal with the BBC. ITV bosses, however, are keen on getting Chiles to the pay-TV.

Although ITV bosses are hopeful of getting Chiles, his spokesman said he was committed to the One Show and was "examining his future".
Chiles also hosts The Apprentice: You're Fired and Match of the Day 2 for BBC 2.
