The Tories have launched their technology manifesto, promising that they will provide broadband spee

The party said it plans to provide these super-fast broadband connections to most British homes by 2017.

It aims to achieve this by boosting private investments through opening up of network infrastructure, making planning rules easy and increasing competition.

The Tories said they would take a cut out of the BBC license fee to rollout the broadband project in rural areas.

The Tory manifesto also talks about giving access to government data on a contract basis. The Tories will break large government IT projects into smaller chunks so that small and medium-size businesses could benefit.
