BBC records 300 staff disciplinary cases

The BBC has recorded about 300 official staff disciplinary cases over the past four years.

Cases reportedly include bullying, theft of property and conflict of interest.

Nine cases involved drug and alcohol, 22 cases involved conflict of interest cases, 87 cases involved misconduct, 42 involved absenteeism, eight involved poor timekeeping, and 12 involved bullying and harassment.

The figures cover a pool of 17,000 employees. However, they do not include cases involving employees of subsidiaries such as BBC Studios & Post Production Ltd, UKTV, BBC World, BBC Worldwide and the World Service Trust.
