BBC entertainment production to get new boss

Katie Taylor to replace Jon Beazley as head of BBC entertainment and events this spring.

Beazely is said to be leaving the Corporation. In the new role, Taylor will oversee production of shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear, Eurovision, Dragons' Den and Children in Need.

She will report to Pat Younge, chief creative officer of BBC Vision Productions.

Taylor is currently the BBC's executive director for comedy entertainment.
