HBO launches video-streaming service

US’ premium cable TV channel has launched a video-streaming service called HBO GO.

HBO has partnered with Verizon to offer its FIOS video and Internet customer access to the site from today. FIOS customers who subscribe to HBO will receive free, unlimited online access to HBO GO.

The Verizon customers must subscribe to the FIOS Internet and TV package plus HBO to access HBO GO. HBO can be accessed from and with FIOS log-in credentials.

HBO's site will offer more than 600 hours of programming. In addition to what is currently available on the TV-based HBO ON Demand, HBO GO will offer original series and movies, mini-series, docs, HBO Sports and blockbuster features. It will also include exclusive and bonus materials, soundtrack and cast information.

Subscribers can create a Watchlist where bookmarked content can be viewed later and where the user will receive alerts about the arrival of new episodes selected for Series Pass.
