Seems at least two of those tweets are people questioning whether the event happened and not stating it as a fact.
Gore Vidal was a senile parody of himself by the end. Sad but at least he outlived Truman Capote and Norman Mailer as some compensation for the Depends and drooling.
Must admit, although I know one from t'other I'd have lost a round of "dead or alive" with Gore Vidal - I thought he was already dead.
Probably shows how much impact he's had on the world outside the chattering classes for the last twenty years or more.
The anagram of Al Gore is Ear log. Somehow apt for such a riveting speaker. Riveting as in I couldn't listen to him unless I was riveted to my seat'.
Al Gore and Vidal Sassoon on the same day. What a loss.
"Al Gore died"
Wish is father to the thought, they say.
" 'Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished..."
Alex, do you think that many of these tweets were made with tongue firmly in cheek?
Probably the same people who thought that "An Inconvenient Truth" was a documentary.
