Charles Clarke, Labour’s lost leader

"I could have done better than Gordon Brown."

From an extended interview in today’s Sunday Telegraph, former Labour minister Charles Clarke says:

I could have done better than Gordon Brown. I think that under almost any other leader we would now have a hung Parliament and be in coalition with the Liberal Democrats.

And (helpfully for his party) has this to say about the current leader:

I don’t see Ed as weird and geeky, but it is a correct reporting of the situation to say that many people do see him as weird and geeky
