A U-turn on "U-turn"

The Foreign Office's own website accidentally labels World Service move a "massive U-turn".

The government has decided to give BBC World Service an extra £2.2m to shore up the Beeb's Arabic service, in light of the recent ructions in the Middle East. This is a "massive U-turn" from previous government policy, which last year shunted the costs of the World Service from the Foreign Office onto the BBC - a de facto cut. "Massive U-turn" is not my phrase, however; it was - briefly - how the Foreign Office's own website labelled the move.

In the screengrab below, a rather enthusiastic web monkey got carried away when putting a headline on the Foreign Office's official announcement. Oopsy. The headline has now been changed to the rather more prosaic "Foreign Office will provide additional funding for the BBC World Service".

Ooops!
