Labour never wins on its own merits. The Conservative nanny government as it gets its confidence up begins to terrify the electorate by its own sadistic actions. Those who thought the Cons would protect them from harm come to their senses when they realise they are in the arena facing possible annihilation. Its a cold bucket of water feeling to find one is not a spectator sitting on the benches and enjoying the spectacle. Cheering on the gladiators and wild beasts to do their worst is reserved for citizens - not subjects.

Go to Hell, Bliar. I hope the Labour party distances itself AS FAR AS POSSIBLE from your ideology.
The reason Blair does and should still get a hearing is because he is the only Labour leader to win more than one term. If Labour want to win again they should listen to the best winner they ever produced.
The only reason Blair won an election is because he was and still is a right wing spin doctor who had tha backing of the Murdoch media he was never a labour man and never will be when they coined the name new labour and purged the labour party of any sniff of left wing canditates that is when the right wing media backed him it was a con job the end result now is a government of extreme rightwing neo conservatives who's job is to restore total control for the ruling classbut as the saying goes those who do not learn through the lessons of history are destined to re-live it.
How about Saffron Labour?
trajan , why do you want labour to distance it self from the only leader it has had that has got it 13.5million votes in the last 52 years
That should make sure that, rightly, Blue Labour will be a roaring success!
I like Lavender Labour, very fragrant.
I just hope some of the bitter-ender Blairites (you know who you are) heed the words of their lost leader and stop indulging in their futile little civil war.
Blue Labour is a hideous term designed to kill off more supporters, hinting darkly at further doses of neo-liberalism. The right always has a catchy phrase advantage and repeating this is a gift. Labour shooting itself in the foot.
"I believe Labour wins from a centre-left position and I hope he will push forward that position."
Then once theve successfully duped the masses, their true neo-liberal right wing agenda becomes apparent. sound familiar?
Why, for a country with (in my opinion) a majority of people inclined toward the political left; do we not have one mainstream party that will defend the views of these people?
Not to mention the fact we live in a system of zero accountability for those at the top *see above

@writeoff blue labour is massively against neoliberalism, it's about social conservatism like protecting local businesses etc, but also encouraging mutuals and coops, nothing neoliberal about it. The only problem is see is how far does the social conservatism go? We can't just stop immigration etc
Hmmm... Tony, the guy who managed to sap the soul out of Labour and replace it with neoliberalism thinks that Blue Labour is wrong. Perhaps we should give it a chance?
jackbailey,
you obviously fail to realise what neoliberalism is and/or are completely ignorant about the actual policies labour have enacted post thatcher.
Sorry but...to Jack

--------------
What has Labour post-Thatcher got to do with BlueLabour? Jack was not saying that NewLabour was not neoliberal. He was saying that BlueLabour was not.
BlueLabour - whether you actually like the term or the philosophy - is not NewLabour, and so separate from post-Thatcher Labour.
sry jack,
oh you said BLUE labour.. lol, my bad. x
ps. what happend to the article?
