He looks all so sincere when he's not. He spoke one thing during the election campaign and now he has completely turned around. He is a slave of David Cameron

'It will not be like the 80s, we will not let that happen'. Clegg

I would be LMAO if this wasn't so serious!

'It's not an ideological attack on the state' re the cuts.
So why are all the cuts targeting the state sector then if it isn't an ideological attack?

I can't watch him anymore.

@Lou

Because a Government cannot cut anything but the state sector...

Lou's picture

@Sam, yes I'm aware of that but he is saying it's not an ideological attack on the state when clearly it is.
Recoup the deficit from the people who caused the problem in the first place - the bankers - not those who can least afford it. And a 2.5 million levy is not enough, it's a drop in the ocean to them and it is they who should be paying for the consequences of their actions not the public sector who've already contributed immensely to bailing out the economy.

@Sam - Oh I don't know, Sheffield Forgemasters was a move against the private sector... and not the only one.

Lou's picture

@Clem, thanks - was just going to add that myself.

Clegg is a bit like young Pike of Dad's Army.
It wasn't a bad speech as speeches go. 'Hold your nerve' was the key message. 'Things will look better come next year'. If they don't panic.
Don't panic.
