Woman throws cat into wheelie bin

A woman is caught on CCTV throwing a cat into a wheelie bin and then walking away.

For those of you who've missed the story, the RSPCA has launched an investigation and is looking for the woman caught on the video (below). The Guardian has an interesting take on the video.

The woman is an absolute disgrace.

jeremiah that kind of responce makes you know better than her so stop it,my theory is that this woman is suffering from mental heath problems and i think she needs help more than this vile lynch mob mentality of revenge..

I don't get this kind of behaviour at all. It does seem a little odd how the cat owner's had their CCTV specifically trained on the bin, it was also as though the cat somehow knew the woman because cats are funny old things and usually bugger off pretty quickly when total strangers come up to them. Me thinks there's more to this than meets the eye. Perhaps I'm just being way too suspicious. Whatever, her act was deplorable and surely must be an offence.

What a horrible old fuck! That woman who just throws that innocent cat into the bin is SO CRUEL!!! I hope the SPCA jumps on her hard. She had NO REASON to do such a thing!

Her 'defence' may well be that she mistook the cat for a hat; there are such people who suffer from such syndromes. But watching the film, its quite clear that she deliberately aquainted herself with the cat before grabbing hold of it and dropping it in the bin. There are no excuses for her callous behaviour and she needs to be prosecuted. The RSPCA must not let this matter drop, otherwise there will be 'copy cat incidents', if people think they can get away with it. No pun intended.

well the cats out of the bag now,no pun intended with all these busybodys making death threats to this poor woman and treated her as if she was a mass murderer,hell she is even getting police protection from these morons who want to rip her to pieces,what kind of country are we living in.

Ok, so we all felt a little better for seeing someone do something we wouldn't do, but this woman is obviously disturbed. we all have done something we are ashamed of, or regret, and now we know that all our gory secrets can be caught on camera.

Anyone the least bit worried about the self-appointed vigilantes baying for her blood?

We are living in a civiised country that doesn't tolerate mallicious cruelty to animals. Nobody condones the action of vigilantes; thats why the RSPCA has to act and act fast. She's brought all this attention on herself. Name and shame works, and should be tried more often.

Looks like a case of temporary insanity. Is the woman going through some sort of pesonal crisis in her life? People can to the most bizarre things when not in their right mind. Something to do with transference of thought by doing something to give a feeling of guilt, and other trick cyclist speak or whatever.

Just wait for the copy cat (!) clips to appear on yootoob, bit like top gear and Reliant Robins recently.

a wheelie bin is too good for her, got to be a skip, like an abattoir skip, full of animal entrails, with a lid on it of course, for 16 hours at least. And don't forget the maggots.

I can't believe how out of proportion this has gone!! this woman has received deatch threats!! and has had to go into hiding... seriously people need to get their priorities straight.. a woman puts a cat in a bin, and suddenly she's the most evil woman in Britain. Worse things happen all the time, and people don't get half as worked up. Do we not have more important things to get worked up about.

If the CCTV hadn't have been there, i think kids would have gotten the blame for something like this, you just wouldn't have expected an old woman to be behind it! What on earth was she thinking? Surely with age comes maturity?
