Job vacancy | New Statesman | Assistant editor
By New Statesman Published 16 July 2010 21:44
The New Statesman is looking for a talented assistant editor to succeed our esteemed colleague Alyssa McDonald, who is emigrating to Australia.
The staff job will suit an emerging journalist who is both an accomplished writer and an excellent and experienced close editor of text. The successful candidate will work on our award-winning magazine and contribute to our website. There will be some routine administrative duties.
We are looking for someone with good ideas, who is disciplined and well organised and calm under pressure. Prospective candidates should send their CV, salary expectations and a brief critique of the magazine and website, together with ideas for three New Statesman features and three columnists.
All applications should be sent to Jon Bernstein at jbernstein@newstatesman.co.uk by 13 August. Please ensure you write "New Statesman Assistant Editor" in the subject line of the email.
