This could be the most sensational result we get all night. Peter Robinson, the First Minister of Northern Ireland and the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, has just lost his seat to the Alliance Party.
He had previously stepped down as First Minister over allegations that he failed to report a £50,000 loan his wife, Iris Robinson, received to help her 19-year-old lover, Kirk McCambley, launch his business. He was later judged not to have broken the ministerial code of conduct, but clearly the damage was done.
This is terrible news for the Democratic Unionists but also bad news for the Tories, who hope to form an alliance with the DUP in the event of a hung parliament.
