The Vatican has investigated only a tiny percentage of sexual abuse claims against priests.


Thousands of allegations of child and adolescent sexual abuse by Catholic priests have been made public since 2001. The claims, which have come from all over the world, far outnumber those actually investigated by the Vatican, amid allegations of officially sanctioned cover-ups.
