Media 30 May 2012 Miliband gets his man at the Mirror New editor Lloyd Embley backed Miliband for the leadership at the People. Print HTML You may not be familiar with the name Lloyd Embley, but he will soon be one of the most powerful newspaper editors in the country. Embley, currently the editor of the People, has been named as the new editor of both the Daily and the Sunday Mirror, two titles with a combined circulation of 2.2m. It's worth recalling that the People was the only national newspaper to endorse Ed Miliband for the Labour leadership. Both Mirror titles supported David Miliband. Since Miliband's election, Embley has met the Labour leader once: a "general discussion" in London on 3 March 2011. Until his recent surge in the polls, the Mirror had been increasingly critical of Miliband's leadership. It will do him no harm to have a supporter at the helm of Labour's most loyal (indeed, only) supporter on Fleet Street. › Syria: taking time off from the massacres to do some sport Lloyd Embley is appointed editor of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror titles.
