The news for the Romney gang is that Mitt didn't utterly f*** it up.
He lied pretty much every time he opened his mouth - but that was the plan.
See Michael Moore's site for a rundown of this long standing Republican strategy.
I'd rather Obama's camp had just refused to engage with this creep - no 'debate' full stop. Just you run the campaign and ads and not allow him on the same platform. The worst they could do is scream 'chicken'.
It's not Romney that is an adherent of Ayn Rand, it's his VP candidate, Ryan.
I'm in the States and I've never seen any evidence or discussion that Romney has ever even read her books. He *is* a sociopath though, so there's that.
And as an American, I'd like to apologize to the rest of the world for the utter stupidity and vapidity of most of the electorate. I blame teevee, religion and fluoride. We could have had Gary Johnson as President, but the corporate powers own us now. Feel free to invade, bomb or otherwise neutralize D.C. We're rather powerless, it seems.
A curious thing going on...the Keynesian experiment is about through here, a generational Dem set-back. It's very simple actually- the shielding of Obama is now over (how much worse could the economy, foreign policy, etc.. have gotten anyway?) and, Romney is the perfect nice guy to "fire" our first black President. Don't chuckle, this is definitely a sensitive thing, but also a post-racial thing. This debate will be studied for years...
so let's watch those Romney poll numbers sky rocket, as surely they must if Romney stands a fart's chance in hell next month.
and of course if they don't it's because they have a liberal bias, but if they do they are the perfect indication of the up coming election result, but if they don't blah blah blah... it's brilliant watching the dumbest nation on the planet trying to 'do' democracy.
A beatdown last night. Historic in the rout. Evident that Romney wants it & the "obama magic" is gone. Our part-time Prez is phoning it in... Dem panic about the Empty Suit & Chair, probably time to start measuring the drapes for that Soros-backed Hawaiian estate...
Great comment. I hadn't realised Mitt is a fan of Ayn Rand. Explains a lot.
I wonder if the polls would be so positive in favour of Romney of the US populace was aware of the fact that he was an adherent of the ramblings of sociopath Ayn Rand? As such, it is possible to assume that he sees the people he pretends he intends to serve as "savages," "refuse," "inanimate objects," and "imitations of living beings". They need to realise he is a unthinking facist who thinks they are beneath him, stupid and lazy. Think on that in light of his 47% 'gaffe'.I say gaffe, for him it was likely and admission of what he thought of the general populace. It's been difficult to forgive the US electorate for unleashing two Bushes on the world; it would mean there is no hope left if they fall for the schtick of this cretin. Leaders should have the values of the populace at heart not their own self interest- Romney is the worst possible example of the opposite approach and should be kept from power at all costs.
