Quote of the day

David Cameron on ConservativeHome

As for ConservativeHome, well, although I love and adore ConservativeHome in all sorts of deeply precious ways, I haven't seen this. So I'll go off and read it and maybe get back to you.

- The Conservative leader, David Cameron, commenting on the Tory blogsite's claim that he is planning to dump the party's commitment to a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty (as reported by the Standard's Paul Waugh).

Cameron cannot possibly have a referendum on the Lisbon treaty for the very good reason that it has already been agreed by every member state, INCLUDING Britain!

This has now become a non-issue. Somebody should tell the country this, including journalists.

The Lisbon Treaty has been ratified and is now in force. Done and dusted. Not a thing the conservatives can do about it.

Please some one tell me if I am wrong!
