UKIP candidate in Ealing Southall, KT Rajan, says only his party can address the concerns of voters in the constituency
The constituency of Ealing Southall is a multicultural thriving society and an example of the contribution made by immigrants. One cannot fail to notice the colourful vibrancy as witnessed in Broadway and elsewhere in the Gurdwaras, Temples and Mosques. The various religious factions living in perfect harmony are an example of tolerance and worthwhile copying by others.
My campaign on the streets has enabled me to find out what the issues concerning the residents of Ealing Southall are. As an immigrant myself, I felt that only the UKIP were capable of addressing the issues which affect people in the area.
They are the only party who have a realistic policy to avoid overcrowding fuelled by mass immigration from, in particular, Eastern Europe, which people are very concerned about. The strain put on services like the NHS, schools and housing by unrestricted mass immigration is huge, and the residents are feeling it.
From talking to them, I have been told that they are also concerned about the shortfall of homes, decadent school buildings, severe parking restriction in the shopping areas, increasing crime rates and finally the exorbitant Council business taxes, especially for small to moderate establishment.
All these need urgent attention, as they are more than likely to improve the quality of life of the residents.
The Ealing Hospital, which mainly caters to the population, should be revamped and upgraded so that it is a welcoming place rather than a place to avoid when ill. They want the after hour services by the General Practitioner to be easily accessible and walk in clinics to be more readily available. Instead of this government giving billions of pounds of our money to the EU every year, why can’t the people of Ealing Southall have money spent on modernising their local hospital?
Increasing crime is a common feature in the London area though this is in par with other big cities around the World. From talking to people, they are very concerned about gun and knife crime in particular, to which no one appears to have the answer to. I think that one way of dealing with the problem is to make punishment prompt and reflect the severity of the crime. Why should criminals and suspects be roaming the streets, able to commit more crime because we don’t have enough room in prisons or the police are battling paperwork instead?
The New EU Treaty signed by Tony Blair will result in more political power to be transferred to the EU and our vote will mean less and less. The EU already costs every man, woman or child in this country the equivalent of £873 per annum.
I think the people of Ealing Southall, deserve better than to be represented by an MP who only thinks about their career and their party. The absence of any real diversion in their policies, or in some cases, any presence of policies, has been accentuated by the lack of political debate.
The people of this constituency need someone to speak out about their issues and their concerns. However, no one dares to address the problems these people, and the people all across the country are suffering.
They are hampered by the fact that they cannot properly address these issues without admitting that they have handed over power to the European Union. Which party has genuinely stood up and said that they cannot deport, nor deny entry, to a criminal from the European Union? The UK Independence Party can address the problems which the people of Ealing Southall are concerned about.
