Europe's tallest building will be officially unveiled in central London on Thursday. That's just one of several fun Shard-related facts and figures. Here are some more:
56,000: Surface area of glass (m2) - which is equivalent to 8 football pitches
54,000: Volume of concrete used (m3) - equivalent to 22 Olympic swimming pools
12,500: The number of workers London Bridge Quarter (an amalgum of the Shard and the Place, the new 600,000 sq ft office next door) will house
11,000: Number of glass panels
1016: Height of building (ft)
853: Height of highest habitable floor (ft)
72: Occupiable floors
52: The level that the swimming pool is on
44: Number of lifts
31.4: Floor area (acres)
8: Number of escalators
3: The number of times the height of the Shard outstrips the height of the London Eye
1: Number of architects called Renzo Piano who were involved in designing the Shard
