The Australian Minister for Trade and Competitiveness, Craig Emerson, has performed a "cringeworthy" verson of Skyhooks' classic 1975 hit today at Parliament House in Canberra.

During an interview with ABC News, he took a question about the "mood in Whyalla" (a South Australian town which could be affected if the tax was implemented) as a lead in to his own version of the Skyhooks song, complete with gyrations and carbon tax themed lyrics:

"No Whyalla wipe-out, right there on my TV. No Whyalla wipe-out, right there on my TV, No Whyalla wipe-out, right there on my TV, shocking me right out of my brain. Shocking me right out of my brain."

Mr Emerson may have been representing Whyalla for some reason. This is his battle cry.
