The launch of newstatesman.com's Fantasy Mayor game. Find out which candidate most closely matches your views

The count down is well underway to the London mayoral election on 1 May. This is the closest contest yet and there's a very real danger of a Tory win.

As always with elections, turnout is key and in the hope of boosting interest in the 2008 contest we've been looking at some of the issues we feel are important - transport, crime, housing and so on.

But what do the candidates say? We asked Labour's Ken Livingstone, Green candidate Sian Berry, Lib Dem Brian Paddick and Tory Boris Johnson to explain where they stand on the key topics such as housing, crime, youth, immigration and, of course, transport.

Click on our Fantasy Mayor game and to find out which candidate most matches your views and then why not email it to your friends?

Oh and don't forget to look at some of our coverage of the issues including articles from some key campaigning groups.

I got Brian Paddick, but there were some sections which i won`t even entertain, such as the Olymipics....the second worst thing London has had to tollerate.

I got Sian Berry for every question except, peculiarly, 'environment'. (Academic, though, as I don't actually live in London).

Good luck, London - please, anyone but Boris!
