Paris attempts to lure HSBC from London
French officials are trying to convince HSBC to shift its domicile from London to Paris ahead of the banks triennial review process.
By Liam McLaughlin Published 04 April 2011
HSBC have reportedly been meeting with French officials in discussions over moving domicile from London to Paris.
This news comes after HSBC's chairman Douglas Flint stated that he was worried about new UK regulatory measures which may be presented in next week's interim report by the Independent Commission on Banking (ICB). He also claimed that the UK could start to lose business if its regulatory stance remains unclear.
Paris is already home to HSBC's government bond trading arm, and already owns the lender Crédit Commercial de France.

It makes more sense for HSBC to move to asia.
China will be the biggest economy in the world and is already the second biggest and one of the fastest growing too.
