BNP Paribas plans to hire 200 bankers

Majority of new staff will be based in London.

French bank BNP Paribas is planning to hire 200 bankers over the next three to five years to consolidate its cash equities business.

BNP Paribas will add 100 new staff in equity research and another 50 in sales and trading in order to strengthen its joint venture with British broker Exane, reported the Financial Times.

The French bank will also add about 50 bankers from its corporate finance unit in order to plug a strategic gap.

According to the Financial Times, majority of the bankers will be based in London.
