Local campaigner Amoree Radford and local Tory candidate, Jacob Rees-Mogg complained to the Take-over Panel that Kraft had broken the take-over code and gone back on its pledge to keep open the factory that Cadbury's had planned to close.
They claimed that "employees and investors were misled" by the US firm. 400 jobs will be lost as a result of the closure.
Business Secretary Lord Mandelson and the chairman of the business and enterprise committee, Peter Luff, have also criticised Kraft for its confusing comments.
"We realise we can't get the jobs back," Radford said "But what else can we do? We just want them to learn their lessons for the future, so it doesn't happen to another company in the future."
