IBM builds data centre for an Indian bank

IBM will deploy a pre-designed and pre-fabricated data centre for India-based Karad Urban Co-operati

IBM will deploy a scalable modular server room (SMSR) which will reportedly save the bank 75 per cent of costs on resources.

As part of the three-year deal, IBM will deploy such centres and provide maintenance and technical services for both the data centre and disaster recovery sites of the bank.

IBM claimed that SMSR reduces risk associated with extensive engineering required for custom installations, is ideal for small data centres and can be purchased off-the-shelf.
