Volkswagen said Jetta continues to lead in popularity selling 11,153 Sedan and SportWagen models, a 40.2% increase over last year.

With its best month since December 2007, Volkswagen's all-new Touareg is off to a great start, selling more than double the model line sales from last November, according to the company.

Volkswagen's Routan sales increased by 98.5%, Golf and Tiguan models also had shown increase in sales compared to prior year period.

The Routan sold 1,072 units, an increase of 98.5% from the same month last year, the Golf achieved a 43.5% increase and the GTI witnessed an increase of 15% compared with the same period in the prior year.

TDI clean diesel models had strong month with 4,304 total sales, the company said.

Volkswagen of America COO Mark Barnes said it is no surprise the all-new Jetta and Touareg models did well for November but it is also good to see increases from models such as the Routan, Tiguan and Golf.

"Our TDI clean diesel products continue to gain popularity as customers realize the benefit of this product," Barnes said.
