Bombardier Transportation has received an additional EUR115m order from Israel Railways (ISR) for the delivery of 72 double-deck coaches.
The recent contract is part of a framework agreement concluded last October, which included a firm order for 78 coaches and foresees optional batches.
The company said that the vehicles will be manufactured at their Gorlitz facility in Germany and in Israel.
Bombardier Transportation vice president of Sales Jean Berge said they are delighted to have booked this additional order in Israel, which brings to 150 the total number of double-deck coaches ordered so far by ISR within the scope of their framework agreement.
"After winning two major double-deck contracts in France and Switzerland this year, the double-deck success story continues," Berge said.
Bombardier Transportation Israel chief country representative Yossi Daskal said this additional contract once more demonstrates the trust that ISR has in Bombardier and they are proud to continue their successful business relationship with ISR.
"These extra coaches will extend the existing ISR fleet of Bombardier double-deck coaches and further contribute to reliable public transport offering in Israel," Daskal said.
