Honda Motor production up 21.3% for first half of year.

Honda Motor has reported worldwide production of 1.81 million units for the first half of fiscal 2011 ended 30 September 2010, an increase of 21.3% compared to the same half of the previous fiscal.

Production in Japan for the first half of the current fiscal year increased 23.3% to 486,496 units compared to same period prior year.

Production in regions outside of Japan in the first half of the current fiscal increased 20.5% to 1.32 million compared to the same period last fiscal year.

For September 2010, the Japanese automaker produced 328,368 units, an increase of 9.2% compared to the same period in 2009.

Total Japan domestic market auto sales for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive year.

Sales of mini-vehicles for the first half of the current fiscal year experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in four years.

Total exports from Japan in September 2010 experienced a year-on-year increase for the seventh consecutive month (since March 2010).
