Maruti Suzuki declares a marginal increase in price
Maruti Suzuki India has announced a marginal increase in the price of its models, excluding the recently launched Eeco, Swift (Petrol) and Gypsy models. The price increase varies from 0.12 per cent (Ritz VDi) to 1.90 per cent (Dzire LXi). For the affected models, the average increase in prices is around 0.6 per cent.
By Staff blogger Published 21 January 2010The company said that the price increase is to partly recover the increase in the input costs arising out of raw material costs over the past year. For some models, increase in the costs are being absorbed by them, in the light of market situation.
The Swift (Petrol) and Swift Dzire (Petrol) will now be equipped with the 1.2 litre K-series engine and comply with BSIV norms. Additionally, the petrol variants will now have a new improved transmission thus enhancing overall power-train performance. The K12 petrol engine on these variants delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.9 km per litre, certified as per CMVR rule 115. (the previous engine delivered 15.9 kmpl)
Reportedly, the introductory prices for the refreshed Estilo, which was introduced in August 2009, stand withdrawn. The new prices for Estilo variants increased by 1,243 rupees to 2,486 rupees.
