Two shot dead at Frankfurt airport

Kosovan man arrested after reportedly shooting at a bus carrying American soldiers.

Two people have been shot dead and at least two have been seriously injured after an incident at an airport in the German city of Frankfurt.

Police have arrested a 21 year old Kosovan man.

German media reports say that the shots were fired on a bus carrying American soldiers outside the airport's Terminal 2.

It is understood that the driver of the bus and a US soldier were killed in the shooting.

Police have told German reporters that it remains unclear whether the incident was a terrorist attack.

Kosovo Interior Minister Bajram Rexhepi confirmed that German police had identified a Kosovan man from the town of Mitrovica as a suspect.

Rexhepi said:"We are trying to find out was this something that was organised or what was the nature of the attack."

The airport, which is Europe's second largest, is not far from the US Air Force's European headquarters, Ramstein Air Base.
