Loser: Britain's young people

A bad year for those who haven't gone to university yet and were hoping to: turns out it's going to get rather more expensive. Those who have already made it to university, meanwhile, can't take much comfort from a job market with not enough jobs in it, and a government set upon eliminating the remainder. Some young people are a bit miffed about this, to put it lightly, and have used 2010 to shake off the popular view of them as an apathetic generation, demonstrating their discontent through the proper channels. Nowadays this means they ended up exercising every citizen's age-old right to hang about for hours on end clustered in a police kettle, desperate for a wee, with gangs of cheerful neighbourhood bobbies occasionally rushing them in riot gear.
