Adam Rapoport, style editor at GQ, has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit, Conde Nast confirmed on Monday.
Rapoport takes over as the chief editor from Barbara Fairchild, who had been working at the food and cuisines magazine for the past 32 years, including 10 as its editor-in-chief.
She decided to quit after the company announced its decision to move base from Los Angeles to New York City earlier this year.
Besides being the style editor at GQ, where he played a big role in the food service pieces featured in the magazine, Rapoport had been the restaurant critic of Time Out New York. He also appeared regularly on cooking segments of NBC's "Today" show.
Rapoport has often voiced his keen interest in the food and cooking segment and talked about his plans to reinvigorate Bon Appetit by making the visuals more relevant and vital.
