Eton radicals

Published 29 May 2008

Geoff Collier (Letters, 26 May) is quite wrong to say that the Jam's "Eton Rifles" could not have been inspired by a visit of the Right to Work march to Eton. Two Right to Work marches went to Eton, the first in June 1978. Socialist Worker of 17 June 1978 reported marchers pogoing through the streets of Eton to the sound of the punk band Crisis and presenting a giant silver spoon to the Eton head boy.
