It's an insult

Twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall fear the whistle may be blown on their singing careers.

Twin may be one of the hottest acts around, according to their boss Guy Stanway, of Creative Productions, but they found 7,000 Barnsley fans a tougher obstacle to please than even The X Factor's Simon Cowell.

The sustained abuse they took during their half-time act provoked angry Nicola to flick a V-sign at the crowd and advise them, in so many words, to seek their entertainment elsewhere.

The girls were then taken for a two-hour grilling at a local police station for using insulting words and behaviour.

Labour logic

At the last meeting of the council, it was revealed that 100 per cent of Asbos issued by Sheffield City Council had been breached.

During the debate one Labour councillor said: "We might have a 100 per cent breach rate of Asbos, but that shows we have effective monitoring."
