Richard Webber, a visiting professor at University College London's geography department, said that the analysis showed the name of a road to be linked to the social class of its residents. "If your address is in a Mews, a Lane or a Way you are likely to be wealthier than someone who lives in a Terrace, a Street or a Crescent," Professor Webber said. "If the street you live in is named after a politician you are likely to be among the least well-off."

Bad language

A German magazine has declared war on English-language terms that have infiltrated the country's game. The Deutsche Sprachwelt magazine published a list of 11 German terms it said German coaches and players should use instead of English. Among some of the words the language guardians recommend that Germans use from now on are: Torwart (goal guard) rather than "der keeper" and Spielbeobachter (match observer) rather than "der scout".
