A woman gave birth in a London park after two tree surgeons acted as midwives. Carmel Ohrwall, 43, went into labour in Richmond Park, south-west London. Peter Carlyon and his colleague Ed Campbell-White pulled over when they saw the mother-to-be on the side of the road. "She was very calm and didn't appear worried at all. She kept saying, 'Born in a park, isn't that lovely?'" said Carlyon. A spokesman for the Royal Parks Foundation said a tree would be planted to mark the birth.

A mother-of-two has been fined for swearing at yobs who terrorised her neighbours.
Sergeant Neil Haley, from West Yorkshire Police, defended the force's actions. He said: "We appreciate that antisocial behaviour can be frustrating for people, but they should not take the law into their own hands."
