Two police officers will be disciplined for putting a teenager in a rubbish bin. They will receive written warnings following an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission. The incident took place in Hackney, when they approached a group of youths. One of the officers picked up a 15-year-old and placed him feet first in the bin. The officer claimed it was done in good humour.

The Commons defence select committee is also "deeply concerned at the shortage of helicopters". They warned that solutions "may well require more money".
