Robert, a civil engineer who spends three hours a day commuting, says the new trains' open carriages means he misses the camaraderie of sharing compartments with other regular commuters. "No one liked the Haslemere crowd," he recalls. "They used to have a terrible reputation because they would get out of the compartment and leave the doors open."

The teenager was arrested after a woman complained to police when she saw his shirt, which promotes the extreme heavy metal band Cradle of Filth.
The T-shirt shows a picture of a nun in a pornographic pose. On the back is an insulting comment about Jesus.
"He bought it because he knew of the band and liked their music," defence solicitor David Coombe told Weymouth Magistrates' Court.
