George Adams, 78, who worked in the docks during the Blitz, was delighted to meet the Queen.
"She was very easy to talk to and has that knack, like her mother, of talking to you like you're the only person in the world. She asked me about how tough working in the docks was during the Blitz. I told her that you had to adapt. At night, you had the blitzes and during the day you worked in the docks. You had to work otherwise you wouldn't get paid. She thought that was very funny," added Mr Adams.
