Bill Greenwell

Published 26 March 2001

Mass culls continued, with pressure applied to delay the election

Policy on the hoof:

we need to bite the ballot,

to separate sheep from goats.

We will not fleece

the farmers. We must move our stock

phrases into the yards, the barns,

the cornfields, the long trenches.

We know a carcass from a caucus.

Vote for us! We will trot out

our porkers, will be milking

the usual teats, will be off pat.

Our dilemma has no horns at all.

Do not call us cowherds, for we

are going to the country.
