In a bid to find the best way to stop the kerb-crawlers, every man caught looking for, or doing business with, a prostitute in Middlesbrough will now be asked to complete a questionnaire about his job, home life and experiences with prostitutes. This information will then be fed into a computer at the University of Durham's Stockton campus and researchers will compile the first ever kerb-crawler profile.
Insp Strange said: "We should be able to see what sort of men use prostitutes and this should help us devise better ways to deter the kerb-crawlers by working out better ways to deal with them.
"I want to give out the message that things are getting better for the people of Middlesbrough." - Northern Echo (Stan Walinets)
