A ghost is haunting a Leith bathroom showroom because it is lonely. A replica Thomas Crapper toilet is being used constantly even when nobody is in the building. Last week staff at the bathroom showroom were shocked to discover the taps next to the vintage loo smashed. They suspect the ghost is getting annoyed at people paying too much attention to the display. Daphne Plowman of the Scottish Society for Psychical Research said, "The spirit world exists in its own time, not ours, but we do not think it likely a ghost would use toilet facilities."

Jedburgh Community Council is hoping to use video evidence to put an end to what appears to be a vendetta against a local taxi operator. A number of recent vandal attacks have been perpetrated at his office in Abbey Place which is next to the Conservative Club. Windows have been smashed and aerials ripped off with the incidents occurring over the holiday period too. A Community Councillor says he has recorded one of the vandals "red-handed" on video and has taken his evidence to the police. "We do not think this is a political act. The Conservative Club is not a political organisation. This is mere vandalism."
