Biblical scholar Andrew Cleetch of Aberdeen has studied 3,451 people worldwide who claim regular contact with angels. His report "blows the lid off the popular concept of cheap little cherubs". Of his respondents 87 per cent said the angel they met was dressed shabbily, 28 per cent used foul language, 13 per cent said angels have body odour and 12 per cent have bad breath. "God is telling us," says Mr Cleetch, "that we should not judge by appearances."
