A walk in Windsor Park nearly turned into tragedy, a Virginia Water resident claimed this week.
Ruth Walker saw a family only minutes away from being trampled by horses. Ruth, of Knowle Grove Close, has written to the Queen's secretary to complain about the lack of signs warning walkers about horses racing across fields.
But park superintendent Bill Cathcart claimed signposting is unnecessary. He said: "There are 5,000 acres of land, so people can easily walk somewhere else." - Staines & Egham Herald and News (David Browning)
