Companies providing free tea and coffee for staff could be hit by a thumping tax bill if they do not record it as a taxable benefit, the Institute of Directors warned yesterday.
One member of the organisation was hit by a £6,000 tax bill for not declaring six years of free tea - a benefit normally overlooked by inspectors. - London Metro (Ron Rubin)

Competition Update.
