The beginning of the end, it was,
when words like peace were inked
on papers, treaties, all because
it made all wars extinct.
How quietly we live our lives.
No bombs are blown or thrown
at husbands, mothers, sisters, wives
inside our safety zone.
In Kurdistan, Peru and Chad,
In Kosovo and Derry,
our world is really not half bad.
Is this inspiring? Very.
In Dagestan and Lebanon
the dogs of war are thwarted:
Sixty years have come and gone,
It's over, thank you. Sorted.
