A heroin addict who lived in a tent in his parents' garden was jailed for three years for a series of burglary offences.
Peter Heywood, defending, said the case illustrated the iniquities of heroin.
"He has sought help from his GP, but to no avail. I have asked him why he shortened the barrels and stocks of the guns and he said it was simply so they would fit into the tent conveniently." - Wilts & Glos Standard (A Barber)

Hundreds of teddy bears were today being held by bailiffs after a city toy hospital went bust.
Bailiffs will now auction off the bears unless owners pick them out of an ID parade in Manchester. - Nottingham Evening Post (Chris Pilkington)
