Change machines are to be installed in problem toilets at Seahouses.
The toilets were discussed at the meeting of the parish council this week with calls being made again for the turnstiles to be dropped. They have proved highly unpopular because people do not have the right change and sometimes struggle with the turnstiles, especially people who have a child or a baby in a pushchair.
There have even been cases of parents trying to squeeze their children through a gap between the turnstiles and the wall. Councillors say they are gravely concerned at such actions because someone could get stuck. -
