A Home Office administration officer, Lovejit Murgai, yesterday told an industrial tribunal that his boss called him a "dog's mess" during an annual interview. Mr Murgai, who is claiming racial discrimination, said he secretly recorded the insult during the annual interview with his line manager. But counsel for the Home Office told the Croydon industrial tribunal that the remark was misheard and the manager had used a German phrase for "Give me strength". - Guardian (Francis Harvey)
